Ardbeg Twenty Something 22 Year Old

Bottle No. 36
Our break-even bottles are exquisite and rare, outside of what you’ll typically see on menus. One of those drinks that you savor and immediately want to share with your best friend. We feel the same way and want to share these with you, so we’re selling these bottles in 1 oz. pours for cost. (Which is, legally speaking, the lowest we can go.) Tuesdays only, we open the bottle at 4p and sell 1 oz pours until it’s gone.

Reservations highly recommended but not required.

Special Guests
Week 36 will be an extra special evening at The Cottage. Not only will you have the opportunity to sample an am amazing whisky for a truly outstanding price, but we’ll also be joined by two very special guests: Cameron George and Carolyn Sellar. Cameron is Ardbeg’s US National Ambassador and will be able to discuss all things Ardbeg in great detail. Carolyn is the owner of Adventures in Whisky and holds multiple certifications with the Council of Whiskey Masters. Do not miss this event!

Additionally, everyone who participates in the break-even bottle will receive both a gift from Ardbeg and an entry into a prize giveaway.

Reserve
Situated along the southern coast of the island of Islay, Ardbeg Distillery was founded in 1815 by the MacDougall Family. By the end of the 19th century, nearly one-third of the population of the island was employed at the distillery, which became notorious for producing some of the boldest and most robust Scotch whisky in the industry. Today, the distillery remains a testament to Scottish innovation and heritage.

This stunning Ardbeg is the latest release in the Ardbeg Twenty Something series. The 22 Year Old pays tribute to the whisky enthusiasts of yesteryear, born during a time when the iconic Ardbeg Distillery name was almost consigned to the history books. During a period of uncertainty for Ardbeg in the 1980s and 1990s, when the stills were near dry a handful of young whisky enthusiasts laid down a handful of casks and kept the Ardbeg spirit alive. On the nose, you can expect luscious tropical fruits fading into sweet smoke, soot and tar. Take a sip and discover fresh green apples with a crumble topping. Notes of peppermint tea and vanilla guide you towards a long smoky finish.
