Bursting at the seams with bright fruit flavor, this Palencia Albariño is a blend of the warmer Spanish Castle Vineyard and cooler Evergreen Vineyard within the Ancient Lakes AVA. The Spanish Castle Albariño ripened two weeks earlier than Evergreen giving a flavor profile of ripe cantaloupe, apricot, and honeydew melon. The Evergreen fruit has more citrus, lemon zest flavors that are framed with bright minerality that coats and refreshes the palate. After harvest the grapes were fermented separately for 30 days in Hungarian oak puncheons then blended together before bottling. Enjoy the Galicia style lingering mineral notes chilled with your favorite seafood & salads.

Muritai is located a half mile from the sea in one of the windiest and driest spots in Marlborough. Whilst bud-break is 7-10 days earlier there because of the proximity of a relatively warm sea in the spring, in the summer the breeze is stronger in the Awatere than elsewhere in Marlborough. And it’s strongest where Arona is, close to the sea. More wind makes their vines less prone to disease, reducing the need for treatments. Wind also reduces temperature, lowering yields and delaying maturity so the grapes see more of the cooler fall evenings. The cool evenings mean larger diurnal temperature changes as well as longer hang times, both of which help develop the aromas and flavors that give Arona wines their unique intensity.

From the vintner: It’s not often you come across a white pinot noir, which is why we strive to make our wine with a delicate touch to allow the unique properties of this red grape to come through as a white wine. We hand-pick our pinot noir grapes typically about a week earlier than when we pick for our red wines to preserve acidity. Then they are whole bunched pressed very gently which allows us to minimize maceration and have little color pick-up. All of the color and most of the tannin in red wine comes from the skin so if you press right away and press lightly you can extract the clear juice, creating a beautifully light-in-color white wine with red wine characteristics. Finally, we allow it to settle out in a tank overnight and then it is clean racked to ferment in stainless steel at a low temperature to retain aromatics. Like our white wines, it’s sur lee aged and bottled in the spring.

Some of the best Chardonnays in Washington State are grown in the slightly cooler growing conditions of the Yakima Valley and in the northern latitudes of the Columbia Valley. The Schmitt and Oasis Vineyards (Yakima Valley) provide nice tropical fruit while Evergreen Vineyard (latitude 47 on the Columbia River) contributes crisp acidity and minerality. This classic Chardonnay offers an inviting mix of baked apple, Asian pear, and stone. With lemon oil and brioche on the mid-palate, this wine lively builds to a long mineral finish.

This 100% Roussanne spent both primary and secondary fermentation in French oak. This wine has an exotic bouquet of honeysuckle and apricot. The mouth feel is rich with hints of nectarine, honey and chamomile. This full body beauty is more reminiscent of a red wine as it is complex and ever-changing on the palate with a nice lingering finish. Roussanne is the perfect holiday food wine and pairs well with a vast array of soft and hard cheeses.

Alleromb’s only Bordeaux inspired blend, although they only used Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon in this vintage. This wine is meant to showcase the perfume and textures that their vineyard consistently produces across all our red wines. Using a clone of Merlot (181) meant more for secondary notes of scorched earth, floral potpourri and dark berries with great volume and plush textures rather than the typical Washington Merlot made mainly from Clone 3 which displays a firmer more present tannin and more new world fruit. Paired with Clone 6 Cabernet that displays more mocha and bay leaf with good volume and a finer tannin keeping this Cuvee fresh, perfumed and stylishly drinkable. Fermented in a combination of concrete tanks and barrels and then aged for 26 months in 30% new French oak 500L’s. Bottled Jan 2018 unfined and unfiltered.

One of Precept Wine’s most stately expressions of Cabernet Sauvignon comes from this 800-acre estate vineyard that’s now into its third decade, and winemaker Jon Zimmerman knows these Horse Heaven Hills sites after his years at Canoe Ridge Vineyard. The investment of 18 months in 40% new French oak barrels adds to the mood of blackberry and black cherry fruit, which takes in a scrape of lime peel, hint of cured meat and cherry tomato. Its youthful profile include black currant skins, chalk and pomegranate. In the background, there’s that remarkable touch of wet stone in so many wines from the Horse Heaven Hills. This Cabernet Franc is such a delightful and captivating wine, delicate but in no way dull. The nose is filled with candied black cherry, ripe blueberry and pretty scents of soft violet and subdued woody spicy notes. The color is a clear sparkling ruby red with a soft hued magenta rim and legs that hypnotically flow down the glass.

The front palette is ripe black cherry, black currant and vanillin followed by wild blackberry, Marion berry and red raspberry, finishing with plum, dark chocolate and soft spices. All the flavors are so expertly integrated and balanced, in every aspect a textbook perfect wine, which is probably the reason it was awarded a Double Gold from SIP Magazine’s Best of the Northwest Competition.

Oh yeah, this berry-busting wine is back! The Alibi rounds out Guardian’s triple threat of Bordeaux-style blends – they started the year with Gun Metal and The Wanted and now it’s time for the Red Mountain blend. A blend of 50% Cabernet, 44% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot this vintage is full of notes of blackberry, black cherry, italian black plum and vanilla. This is definitely a classic Red Mountain wine, it’s round, full, concentrated and dense. The finish and lovely and lifted. The Alibi was aged 21 months on 75% new French oak.
